The signing ceremony of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and Russian Federation University of Transport (RUT-MIIT)

On October 12, 2018, the signing ceremony of the comprehensive cooperation agreement between Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and Russian Federation University of Transport (RUT-MIIT) on training, scientific research and technology transfer was held at Moscow, Russia.

Based on the cooperative agreement signed in 2013 and the process of exchanging delegations of students and lecturers and scientific researches over the past five years, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Thu, Party Committee Secretary, President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC) and delegation visited, exchanged and signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with RUT-MIIT.

Warmly welcome representatives of UT-HCMC to RUT-MIIT with the participation of Vice President in charge of International Relations, Mr. Glazkov V.I., Director of the Institute of Construction, Mr. Shepitko T.V. and the heads of departments. In addition, there are representatives of the Embassy of Vietnam in Russia and representatives of Russian Federation Ministry of Transport joined a discussion and witnessed the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between two universities.

Russian University of Transport (RUT-MIIT) was established in 1896 under the management of Russian Federation Ministry of Transport, is currently training more than 113,000 students, postgraduates on building, operational exploitation, information technology, railway engine and wagon, economics, law in transport sector and also has been training for Vietnam students with almost 500 engineers, masters, doctors during the past 60 years.

Based on a preliminary cooperation agreement signed by two universities in 2013, this cooperation agreement has come to more detailed terms, including on education, two universities will exchange students, lecturers and send students, postgraduates to study in the form of the Agreement of two governments, etc.; on scientific research, two universities will jointly research, organize seminars, and publish common publications; on technology transfer, based on the potential of two universities along with supports of Ministries of Transport and enterprises of two countries will initially launch some pilot projects to strengthen cooperation significantly between two universities.

Representative of Embassy of Vietnam in Russian Federation, Counselor Le Chi Loi also asserted the signing of the cooperation agreement between two universities in the general cooperation framework of two countries to assume that Embassy would support all activities in the framework of agreement concluded. The representative of Russian Federation Ministry of Transport emphasized that cooperation between two universities is necessary in the period of globalization and is an important factor to connect two Ministries of Transport of two countries closely each other.
