Le Thanh Duong achieved the excellent certificate of the 45th WorldSkills Competition held at the KAZAN EXPO International Exhibition Centre in Kazan, Russia in August 2019


In the morning of August 29th, 2019, representatives of Department of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and other universities were at Tan Son Nhat Airport to welcome Vietnamese delegation to return to Viet Nam after taking part in the WorldSkills Competition 2019 in Kazan, Russia.

The 45th WorldSkills Competition 2019 is the largest competition for the number of countries or territories and the number of participants ever attended. Specifically, there were more than 1,300 participants with 56 vocational skills. In addition to 56 formal vocational skills, this year the competition with 11 vocational skills was organized for teenagers aged 15-17 years; 27 vocational skills were organized to introduce future skills. Vietnam took part in 18/56 vocational skills.

The Vietnamese delegation won a silver medal for the first time with CNC milling. Besides, the Vietnamese delegation also had 08 participants who achieved certificates of excellent vocational skills in 07 vocational skills: web technology, welding, molding, electrical installation, automotive paint, plastic molding techniques, sheet metal processing ... According to the total number of medals and the average score, Vietnam ranks 25/63 countries and territories taking part in the competition.

Le Thanh Duong (class KM15, Faculty of Information Technology) was representative of Vietnam participated in WorldSkills competition with web technology, and accompanied by Duong, with the presence of lecturer Tran Duc Doanh (Expert) and lecturer Nguyen Luong Anh Tuan (Translator). Le Thanh Duong completed successfully the rounds and achieved certificates of excellent vocational skills.

It was the best effort of student Le Thanh Duong, along with the enthusiastic support and training of experts, the considerable support of Board of Presidents and the organizations and businesses. Experts were very active and effective in participating in the competition forum; firmly grasping the structure of competition and specific technologies affecting making topics in the competition, training professionally, integrating, making creativity and risk management, simulating the space of the competition for participants to get acquainted, and especially the first step for instructing participants to work based on time zone of Russia.
