Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport held Environmental Fair responding to Action month on environment - Unique and meaningful


Responding to the action month on environment, International Day for Biological Diversity, Vietnam Sea and Islands Week; to actively propagate the awareness of people on environmental protection and conservation, reduce waste to the environment, and create a living and working environment positively, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC) held Environmental Fair on June 15th, 2018.

Early in the morning, the Environmental Fair attracted participation of businesses and students with booths of clean and delicious specialties from different areas, environmental booth with products for environmental protection, recycling products made from straws, cardboard; handmade products; the booths with slogan: "What is old for others might be new for us" took place excitingly with exchange activities, exchanging items such as shoes, books ... This year, though the Environmental Fair was held the second time, the fair attracted nearly twenty participating booths, especially Change Vietnam non-governmental Organization also participated in raising environmental funds.

At the Environmental Fair, lecturers and students visited the booths with recycled products, green trees and propaganda publications on the environment made by students of Institute for Environmental and Transport Studies of UT-HCMC. Environmental experts and staff guided how to make environmental protection products, recycle items in life, etc. popularized and propagated on the reduction, reuse and recycling of waste to protect the environment and save energy ... Especially, visitors were cleaned laptops with only 50,000 VND.

Funds collected from the activities of Environmental Fair will be handed over to UT-HCMC’s Youth Union - Student Union for use in scientific research activities on environment and volunteer activities for the community.

As a unit directly training human resources for the transport sector, UT-HCMC always focuses on improving the quality of training as well as directly contributing to the construction of transport infrastructure in the direction of sustainable development. On April 21st, 2016, Ministry of Education and Training had Decision No. 1292/QĐ-BGDĐT allowed UT-HCMC in regular training of Environmental Engineering major and managed by the Institute for Environmental and Transport Studies of UT-HCMC. The annual Environmental Fair conducted by students and lecturers of the Institute has made good effects in environmental protection.
