Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport ceremonially celebrated the 38th Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1982 – November 20, 2020)

The teachers are honored as "soul engineers". “Teaching is the noblest of the noble professions, the most creative of creative jobs because it shapes creative people." On the morning of November 20th, 2020, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC) ceremonially celebrated the 38th Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (20/11/1982 – 20/11/2020).

Attending at the Ceremony, there were representatives of Permanent Office in the South of Ministry of Transport, Party Committee of Ministry of Transport, HCMC Labor Confederation, companies, enterprises, former and present leaders, lecturers and students of UT-HCMC.

Remarkable and meaningful musical performances of UT-HCMC’s students

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phuong, Deputy Party Committee Secretary, Vice President of UT-HCMC read the congratulatory letter on Vietnamese Teachers' Day written by the Minister of Ministry of Transport to all the teachers and officials working at universities in the Transport sector. In the letter, Minister appreciated all fine performances and achievements of all the lecturers, officials and also encouraged all the universities to continuously gain more achievements, strive to enhance quality of teaching and learning, conduct scientific research activities, and transfer technology to provide higher quality human resources for the Transport industry and nationwide.

In the past academic years, although UT-HCMC together with Transport sector in particular and society in general have been facing many difficulties and challenges, with good qualities and active, creative spirit, officials, lecturers and students has been trying to overcome many difficulties and challenges, actively and creatively implement solutions to innovate management work, models and methods of teaching and learning and achieving many remarkable results.

In congratulations speech’s Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Hoang, Vice President in charge of UT-HCMC on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day, he thanked teachers and teachers for being dedicated to their work contributing to training young intellectuals who have enough talent and virtue and might take on key roles in the cause of building and developing the country.

Many lecturers have overcome difficulties in life, taking care of teaching and helping students in learning and scientific research. Especially in 2020, difficulties are increasing due to Pandemic Covid-19, however, the collective of teachers who have tried to overcome and have many remarkable achievements in training, scientific research, quality assurance and international relations. In training, the school has been combining online and conventional class to complete the schedule of teaching & learning. In scientific research, the university for the first time approved 4 projects at state level. In quality assurance and testing of 2 training programs for the first time approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. Moreover, the university is conducting an internal assessment for 01 training program in accordance with AUN standard details. In international relations activities, many international programs and projects have been deploying.

25 collectives received the Certificates of Merit on "Excellent Labor Collective" title for their outstanding achievements

15 lecturers for "Typical Young Lecturers of UT-HCMC in the academic year 2019 -2020” title

At the ceremony, UT-HCMC’s Board of President also commended 25 collectives for "Excellent Labor Collective" title, 26 collectives for “Advanced Labor Collective” title, 15 lecturers for “Typical Young Teachers of UT-HCMC in the academic year 2019- 2020”, 1 lecturer for "Emulation Fighter" title in Transport sector.

UT-HCMC’s Board of President would like to thank Ministry of Transport, organizations, enterprises, units and individuals for sending many colorful flowers baskets and telegram of greetings to the university and lecturers on Vietnamese Teachers’ Day. On behalf of UT-HCMC, we would really like to send best wishes to teachers who are always moral, self-studying and creative examples and will continue to contribute to the development of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport in particular and the cause of nationwide developing education and training.
