In order to create an opportunity for students at Vietnamese univeristies to approach the highly-developed British education system as well as strengthen the effective collaborations between British and Vietnamese universities, in September, 2014, British Council organized the 6th lecture tour (at Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City) of Sterling Group (UK).


Recently, many ship owners from Japan and Korea have visited Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport to search for cooperative opportunities in providing seafarers. On that trend, on the morning of July, 17th, 2014, UT-HCMC has had a meeting and discussion with representatives from Ship Management Company Misuga Kaiun – one of the leading ship management companies in Japan.


In the progress of enhancing the leading ability in renovating the education, from June 16th to June 19th 2014, the delegation of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCMC) led by Ass. Pro Nguyen Van Thu, University’s president, visited and worked at The University of Salamanca (USAL), Spain.


Climate change is one of the internationally serious challenges for human beings in the 21st century. Being aware of this issue, on the morning of  12th June 2014, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport held the seminar “Dealing with Climate change, Sea level rise 2014” with the large attendence from the Board of Directors, officials, lecturers and students.

Globalization has been spreading to every corner of the world. From the purpose of improving internationally cooperative abilities, with the permission from the Board of managers, on May 20th, 2014, Department of international relations held the seminar named “Enhancing the internationally cooperative abilities among the universtity’s departments”.

On the occasion of a tour in Vietnam, on the morning of 22nd Jan 2014, Deputy Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Belgium – Mr. Johan Vande Lanotte and his delegation visited and worked at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport.


On 25th July 2013, a group of lecturers representation for Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport joined interviewed by APEC’s gender experts on the subject of women’s efforts contribution to the development of transport sector.

Continuing the activities to celebrate 25 years establishment and development anniversary of Ho Chi Minh University of Transport (1998-2013), faculty of Civil Engineering held a scientific conference on 7th May 2013.

On 1st May 2013, International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) has approved the proposal “One World Classroom for Future Seafarers: A design of a new virtual E-Learning environment for Maritime Education and Training” Research Project of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport. The parties have signed the contract, duration from 1st May 2013 to 1st May 2014 to carry out the project
