Warm welcome the visit and working of Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province (GBD), Korea to Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport (UT-HCM)

On November 10, 2017, on the occasion of the visit and working in Ho Chi Minh City, Kim Kwan Yong, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province (GBD), Korea and the delegation visited, worked at Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF).

At the meeting, Governor Kim Kwan- Yong expressed his pleasure and thanked the UT-HCM for the warm welcome the visit and working of the delegation of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province (GBD). Governor Kim Kwan-Yong also said that Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Ho Chi Minh City will co-organize the World Cultural Festival 2017 in Ho Chi Minh City from November 9 to December 3, 2017. A series of activities will be organized in the framework of the festival such as art performance, cuisine introduction, literature, photo exhibition, films, fashion show, trade and investment promotion, etc.. The co-organization of the World Cultural Festival 2017 is a favorable opportunity for cultural exchange promotion and bilateral cooperation between the two sides in many fields. Through the Festival, Vietnamese people and Korean with cultural and social similarities will enhance mutual understanding and be bridge for development cooperation and prosperity of both countries.

In the framework of the 16th Asia Maritime & Fisheries Universities Forum (AMFUF) 2017 taking place at Ho Chi Minh University of Transport, Governor of Gyeongsangbuk-do Province (GBD) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with President of the AMFUF. Accordingly, from 2017, the GBD will actively participate and support the operation of the AMFUF.

On the same day, the closing ceremony of the AMFUF also closed with the successful signing ceremony among the member universities. In addition, at the AMFUF 2017, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, Sri Lanka was awarded the AMFUF official membership certification and the AMFUF 2017 has been bringing the total number of the AMFUF members to 25 universities and institutions.
