Faculty of Naval architecture

1/ Introduction

Naval Architecture is the key industry to serve the industrialization and modernization. In 1997, theDesigning and Ship building major was opened the first time in Southern Branch of Vietnam Maritime University. The first class inDesigning and Ship building major of the  department of Naval Architecture and Floating Objects started in 1997.

- In May 10th, 1999, the departmentwas upgraded into the Faculty of Naval Architecture and Floating Objects.

- In October 25th, 2011, based on the Decision No. 484/QĐ-ĐHGTVT, Faculty of Naval Architecture and Floating Objects was changed into the Faculty of Naval architecture.

After years of establishment and development, the faculty has trainined hundreds of engineers, masters for the ship building companies, ship operation and management organizations, ship research institutes.

3/ Scientific research and technology transfer activities:

Scientific research and technology transfer activities are the two top priorities of the faculty. The periodical reports are carried out monthly. The faculty has also hosted or collaborated in organizing many national and international seminars. The lecturers of the naval architecture have attended many scientific research projects, technology transfer activities in the institutional and ministerial levels.
